Meet the winners of The 2018 Diamond of Furniture Making Contest
2017-11-17The jury has reached a verdict and it’s time to announce the winners of the 12th edition of the 2018 Diamond of Furniture Making Contest. The jury had a very difficult task – choosing the best contest participants out of the splendid ones.
This year more than 90 contest participants submitted over 130 products, such as furniture, accessories and components, out of which the jury selected the best ones. The adjudication panel was evaluating design and relevance to current trends, innovation and technological advancement as well as functionality, ergonomics and aesthetics of the products.
The contest, which has been held since 2006, is organised by meble.pl S.A. and Wydawnictwo meble.pl sp. z o.o.. The goal of the contest is to choose the best furniture making and interior furnishing products (in terms of design, technology, innovation and practicality) that have been launched onto the market since November 2016 or will be manufactured from the beginning of 2018.
Globus became a technological partner of the contest and wasresponsible for, e.g., full and professional technical and commercial assistance concerning the selection and use of industrial and highly-specialised cutting tools that are used during the manufacturing process of both furniture and interior furnishings, as well as profile woodwork.

2017-07-06POWER TOOLS
The power tool industry is developing very rapidly. Newer and better power tools, both for industrial use and household jobs, are launched onto the market. Manufacturers are working hard both to enhance technical parameters of tools and to implement new technologies.
It is very important for a tool to be ergonomic, light, and simultaneously, to maintain as high cutting and power parameters as possible and to satisfy the highest safety norms while in use.
In response to the increased needs of our customers, the wide range of cutting tools now also includes the following models:
- Circular saw blades from the AKU line in three series: TCT AKU1 saw blades, HSS AKU2 saw blades, and AKU3 normal saw blades for battery power tools.
Thin saw blades with reduced power consumption for battery power tools. An ideal tool for portable use at construction sites.

- TCT circular saw blades from the BRYTAN, KOLIBER, OSA series for circular saws.
The improved line of professional TCT blades for circular saws featuring a special tooth profile, the right edge, and a new spline bore, which all ensure that the best surface quality is achieved after cutting.
The series has been modified with 2 key elements:
- spline bore is a new fastening type that significantly reduces friction when the blade is mounted on the shaft with a tight interference fit; in the case of any soiling (dust) it enables the blade to be put properly,
- new blade design that increases rigidity and ensures higher cutting precision.

INDUSTRIAL SAW BLADES FOR FURNITURE PRODUCTION
The progressing automatization of cutting processes can be seen in panel saws that are introduced into the market. These processes affect woodworking reliability and the operation precision while cutting, as well as higher precision of furniture articles.
Therefore, new solutions for machine equipment should be more flexible and provide a machine operator with a universal tool for versatile use.
To satisfy customer expectations, our specially designed TCT blades are intended for both plants with a high production rate and plants with a lower production rate, but universally equipped (production, individual orders, board warehouses):
- TCT saw blades from the LL MULTI CUT VH series for cutting wood-based materials using panel saws.
Specialized TCT blades with an irregular tooth pitch are intended for cutting wood-based materials precisely both individually and in batches. A new line of blades for the furniture making industry.

Globus as a technological partner of the Diamond of Furniture Making
2017-06-19The 2018 Diamond of Furniture Making contest, held for the 12th time, began. It is one of the most prestigious and popular furniture making industry contests in Poland.
We are very pleased to announce that Globus became a technological partner of the contest. Our company is going to be responsible for, e.g., full and professional technical and commercial assistance concerning the selection and use of industrial and highly-specialised cutting tools that are used in the manufacture of both furniture and interior furnishings, as well as profile woodwork. Our support is not only targeted at contest participants, but also at other furniture manufacturers who need to optimise their production.
The contest, which has been held since 2006, is organised by meble.pl S.A. and Wydawnictwo meble.pl sp. z o.o. The goal of the contest is to choose the best furniture making and interior furnishing products in terms of design, technology, innovation and practicality that has been launched onto the market since November 2016 or will be manufactured from the beginning of 2018.
This year's context features 21 product categories where contest participants can select one of the two classes: Standard or Premium, as well as two extra categories (marketing and communication or visions) without the class division. A "young design" category is intended for university students and last year and current year school and university graduates who can submit their furniture and interior furnishing projects free of charge.
Products can be submitted by October 16th of the current year.
A prestigious award given to contest participants reflects an excellent design and originality of products and indicates superb expert perception.
The contest officially ends with the award ceremony held on December 4th in Warsaw.

The winners of the contest
2017-03-08The 4th edition of the contest "Make children's dreams come true 2017", held under the auspices of the GLOBUS brand, has enjoyed exceptional popularity among young designers who have demonstrated great creativity and spatial imagination.
The participants to the contest "Make children's dreams come true 2017" were asked to design furniture inspired by children's art works awarded in the contest "Furniture of children's dreams 2017". The winners will receive attractive prizes: two-week placements in companies operating within the furniture industry and 3D computer-aided design software (CAD).
We would like to invite you to the award ceremony, which will take place on 15 March this year during the "Meble Polska" furniture fair in Poznań. In addition, the creator of the project selected by us will receive a special award from the GLOBUS brand.
You can also, for the entire duration of the fair, visit the "Furniture of Your Dreams 2017" initiative exhibition at the stand of the "BIZNES meble.pl" monthly magazine (Pavilion 7 stand 8).

The 4th edition of the contest "Make children's dreams come true" is in full swing.
GLOBUS regularly supports creative ideas and projects enabling us to fulfil children's dreams, especially those dreams which make it possible to arrange their own life space. Therefore, we encourage all young designers: students and graduates of furniture and interior design schools and course as well as amateurs to participate in the contest.
"Make children's dreams come true" is a contest in which participants design furniture inspired by children's art works awarded in the contest "Furniture of children's dreams." The organiser assigns works and guidelines necessaru for the completion of the task to the participants.

- Deadline for sending an (on-line) application - 11 December 2016
- Deadline for sending projects - 5 February 2017
- The results of the contest will be announced in March 2017 at the fair "Meble Polska" in Poznań.

A new type of carbide tips is characterized by higher impact strength and lower abrasion at the same time. It perfectly deals with the toughest conditions, it is for wood with more knots, not stripped, frozen and full of sand and can be used on machines (single or twin shaft multi rip saws) with medium and high speed, even for less solid constructions or when chip removal is weaker.
