This year's Polish Carpentry Congress, that is the most important event in the Polish woodwork industry, was held in Toruń on May 25th and 26th 2017. During the two days of the Polish Carpentry Congress at the Hotel Copernicus, numerous engrossing discussions were opened up concerning the most important challenges to be faced by woodwork industry manufacturers and suppliers. Key issues for entrepreneurs were addressed during discussion panels. This year's Congress also featured representatives of the institutions associated with construction, as well as representatives of local authorities and a great number of journalists.

During the Congress, the discussion panels were divided into several thematic blocks where moderators and visitors discussed the most important challenges to be faced by the entire industry:

On energy saving - is a further reduction of the heat transfer coefficient justified?
The core part of the Congress began with the discussion during the 1st thematic block entitled: "Perception of 2021: Changes concerning the heat transfer coefficient in wood joinery".
After the discussion woodwork industry manufacturers and suppliers took a vote on a further reduction of the heat transfer parameters in joinery. Most manufacturers and goods suppliers decided that the parameters should stay at the same level.

How to ensure company sustainability for generations - succession in family businesses.
Succession in family businesses was another topic that was discussed during the first day of the 8th Polish Carpentry Congress. The 2nd thematic block was devoted to the topic and was entitled "Succession - how to ensure company sustainability for generations?".
